Letter From Director
*I would like to thank Steve Farias for graciously donating his time and labor installing a new floor in our Fall River Boutique. Thank you. Our boutique looks so much nicer now because of it.
Another thank you goes out to Dr. Mark Lowney and Mark Tysko for donating computers to our centers. Our Fall River Boutique is already expanding and we are addingmore room to it over the summer. I encourage each of you to come by and see our wonderful center. As always, we are in need of volunteers for both centers. If you have any free time and would like to get involved, we would love to have you at the center. Many hands make light work.
*
*This July is a very busy month for us. We have two major fundraisers one right after the other. We desperately need volunteers for both. If you could please call the center and add your time to our list of volunteers, it would be greatly appreciated. It can only be a success with all of your help. If you can not physically help, please come and support us by purchasing items at the Yard Sale or eating our delicious food at the 4H Fair.
*As I am sure everyone has heard by now, great strives Pro Life has made with the banning of partial birth abortion. We are making gret headway; I hope we have them on the run.
*Please keep the prayers going for the innocent. They are helpless without our help. Thank you once again for listening to me.

JANE ROE' WANTS TO OVERTURN LEGALIZED ABORTION'
MSNBC NEWS.COM / JUNE 18,2003
The Texas woman known for years only as "Jane Roe" now wants to help overturn the controversial decision that legalized abortion.
*"I feel good about myself, I really do. I feel like the weight of the world has just been lifted off my shoulders," Norma McCorvey said.
*The "Jane Roe" from the court case that legalized abortion is going back to court.
*"We have filed it and what they have said in the past - you've come a long way baby. Well - we're getting our babies back. "Thank you," McCorvey said at a news conference that
*
ounded a bit like a revival, women told abortion horror stories while others cried and held signs that read: "I regret my abortion."
*Peggy Sweeney of Trophy Club was one of them.
*"We need to speak up, those of us who have had abortions and know the pain and the anguish and the spiritual pain, the physical pain. We need to tell people. It's time to not be silent anymore," she said. (Continued, page 2)
McCorvey and her attorneys are
asking the court to consider 5,400 pages of new evidence that abortion hurts women, including 1,000 affidavits from women who tell of the devastating impact of abortion.
*"I felt so evil, so dirty and so ashamed, and I don't want anybody else to feel this way again," Carole Lefreniere said.
*"If I was to kill my nine-month old, do I have that choice? But I can choose to kill a baby that's inside my womb, and it's a baby. It's not a blob of tissue...and what about the baby? Let's talk about the baby - the woman says she has a choice, but what about the baby? It has no choice?" TeAndra Parker said.
*The Texas attorney general's office and the Dallas district attorney each has 20 days to respond to the motion.

On June 4, the U. S. House of Representatives passed the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act by an overwhelming bipartisan vote. Cardinal Anthony Bevilacuua, Chairman of the Bishop's Committee for Pro-Life Activities, hailed passage of the bill, noting, "In voting to ban this procedure, one of the most heinous acts ever perpetrated upon an unborn child, Congress is in harmony with the vast majority of Americans who find this violent act intolerable and want it stopped." Remarking on the intent of abortion advocates to challenge the bill in court, the Cardinal observed, "Nothing in our Constitution demands that unborn children must be subjected to a procedure so violent and painful...To cloak the act in the Constitution is a national disgrace." For the full statement by Cardinal Bevilacuua, see: www.usccb.org/profile/whatsnew.htm. The House passed the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act (H. R. 760) by the vote, 282-yes, 139-no.
*The Next Step: Conference Committee
The house bill is identical to the measure passed by the Senate earlier this year (S.3), except for an extraneous affirmation of Roe v. Wade added to the Senate bill. The matter next goes to conference committee, where the Senate addendum on Roe should be removed. The House appointed Reps. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI), Henry Hyde (R-IL), and Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) as House conferees. After the conference report is agreed to by House and Senate, the measure goes to President Bush, who has promised to sign the bill.
*Two Attempts to Gut H. R. 760
Prior to final passage, the House rejected two attempts to add "health" exceptions that would gut H. R. 760, voting down the Greenwood substitute amendment, 133-yes, 287-no and rejecting the Baldwin motion to recommit with instructions, 165-yes, 256-no.
For their own reasons, forty-two members voting "no" on final passage (pro-obortion) voted against the Greenwood Amendment (pro-life), and one Member voting "no" on final passage (pro-abortion) voted against the Baldwin motion to recommit (pro-life.)
*Thank Your Representative
